Still pretty in my mind, but somehow it didn't photograph true.

Thanks on the congrats. I should be happy with the 2:05, and I am....Maybe next time I'll shave a little more off. Hard to say. 2:17 for a trail Half is amazing! The only trail half I have done I finished in about 3:15, but I was getting over being sick at the time. :) I have another trail race coming up, so we'll see if I can change that.

Definitely check out the restaurant! It was delicious!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2104840882214526893.post-79785722424995453032012-05-18T15:54:53.145-05:002012-05-18T15:54:53.145-05:00Yo, I wouldn't necessarily be into the idea of...Yo, I wouldn't necessarily be into the idea of Clif Bloks - too much chewing - but they are infinitely more palatable to me than GUs or other gels. However, I do need to decide I am going to utilize them and then do so. :)

I am surprised that you don't see more minimal running where you are at.....you at least have better weather for it over the course of the year. :)

Thanks on the congrats!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2104840882214526893.post-41127257910675974382012-05-18T08:30:14.959-05:002012-05-18T08:30:14.959-05:00Hooray, thanks!
Love your race recap, and the sh...Hooray, thanks!

Love your race recap, and the shirt and medal are really nice (I like the shade of blue and how the design is simple).

I've never run with a pace group before because it always sounds stressful. However I know that if I want to ever improve my time, it might be a good idea. What mess did you create at the water station?!

Sounds like the pace group got you off to a good start, but in the end you go to settle in and find your pace and finish on your own. That is a nice balance and your pace is great! My next half, I hope to run around 2:05. My current PR is around 2:17 but that was a trail half... I've never done a road one so I'd hope my time would be a tiny bit better.

Heard that restaurant in Chicago is great, but we've never been. Usually we go to Chicago Diner or Karen's Karyn's Cooked for veg food, but honestly I hate driving in Chicago so we haven't gone in ages.

Might have to pencil in this race for next year. It is about 4 hours and I've never been there and it seems like a fun little road trip.

Happy to hear that there were a lot of minimalist shoes out there! Not sure how that one woman wore a boot to the finish, that is tough!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2104840882214526893.post-35087089880140951462012-05-17T20:27:12.697-05:002012-05-17T20:27:12.697-05:00Yay, thanks for the giveaway!
I love your cliff ...Yay, thanks for the giveaway!

I love your cliff blocks idea. Last time I tried those during a race, I felt like I was choking, but I might be ready to give them another try. Love your push on that last hill. And even though it wasn't what you hoped, big congrats on a PR. And minimal running is definitely not "in" here, so it would be very unusual to see people running barefoot. That's cool that you guys have a lot of that there.Yo Momma Runshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02303930412601863052noreply@blogger.com
